Terrifyingly, this applies to almost any job in existence. 99% of kids nowadays use AI *heavily* for school work / in universities, outsourcing critical thinking and problem solving. Not to mention the majority of white-collar jobs that exist today are 10x easier to replace with AI than security researcher's jobs; it just hasn't been done yet properly. Crazy times ahead
Oh yeah, fully agreed! Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the AI and how it can make our work easier. I do use it lots of time as otherwise I could be replaced more easily.
However we shouldn’t ever outsource our thinking to AI, only outsource the boring, repetitive kind of work we would need assistant or somebody else to do. AI is great for that and many other work.
Sadly, as you said, majority of people are not using it like that.
